How to Make a Wassup in a Minute Video: 3 Ways
How to make a wassup in a minute video: one photo here, a free CapCut template or your own drawing.
Last updated: 2026-11-01
Here is how to make a wassup in a minute video, three ways. The fastest is to upload one photo here: it is redrawn as an original 2D street character in the trend’s look and animated with the head bop, as a 10-second 9:16 MP4 at 720p (usually under 5 minutes, from $3.99). The free way is a CapCut template, which cuts your real photo out instead of drawing you. The original way, the one @ristyisvalid and @aka_zayy used, is to draw the character and animate it yourself, or to commission an artist.
The three ways at a glance
| This site | CapCut templates | Draw and animate | |
|---|---|---|---|
| What you need | One photo of one adult | The CapCut app and 1 to 4 photos | Drawing and animation skills, or an artist |
| What you get | You, redrawn as a 2D street character doing the bop | Your real photo cut out on white, or AI motion on one image | Whatever you draw |
| Format | 10-second 9:16 MP4 at 720p | 15 seconds square, or 8 seconds 4:5 | Your choice |
| Cost | From $3.99, one-time | Free | Your time, or a commission |
| Editing | None | A few taps | All of it |
Way 1: from one photo on this site
- Pick a photo: one adult, knees-up or full body, face clearly visible (tips below). A JPG, PNG or WebP up to 10 MB.
- Open the generator and upload it. The photo is checked first, and a photo that fails the check costs nothing.
- Tap Make my video. By tapping it you confirm that the person is 18 or older, is you or someone who agreed, and isn’t a public figure.
- Sign in and choose a pack when asked, if you have no credits yet: $3.99 for 1 HD video, $9.99 for 3, $19.99 for 8, $49.99 for 25. One video uses 100 credits, and credits never expire.
- Wait (usually under 5 minutes). You can close the page; we email you when it is ready.
- Download the MP4. It is silent, has no watermark and stays in My videos for 14 days.
- Add the sound and post (below).
What you get: the character keeps your face shape, hairstyle, hair colour and skin tone, in one of six Atlanta street looks picked at random, in the colours of your own clothes: a puffer with a fan of cash, a cap on a park bench, a crossbody bag with a palms-up “wassup”, a jersey with a bucket hat, a track jacket with chains, or a hoodie with a beanie. It bounces on every beat, the upper body dipping and springing back, and sways slowly side to side, in place, on white with a soft drop shadow.
What it can’t do: more than one person per video, pets, public figures, existing anime characters, your own clothes, sound in the file, or any shape other than 9:16. Payment is a one-time pack by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay (pricing).
If a video fails or times out, its credits come back automatically. A finished video that fails the safety check keeps its credits. The refund policy has the details.
Way 2: the free CapCut templates
- “in a minute wassup” by TIRTA [AOT] (open the template): four photo slots, 15 seconds, square. Judging by its preview, no AI is involved: it cuts your real photos out onto white with a drop shadow, zooms in, then sways the upper body from side to side. 443,386 uses by Oct 31, 2026 at 17:05 UTC, and gaining about 21,000 an hour.
- “ai” by Future301 (open the template): one image, 8 seconds, 4:5, marked with CapCut’s AI badge. The motion is generated: the knees bend and the fan of cash comes up to the face. 24,710 uses.
To use one, open the link on your phone, tap Use template, pick your photos and export or share to TikTok. Both are free.
What you give up: neither template redraws you as a character, so your real photo stays a photo. TIRTA’s motion sits in the head and shoulders rather than the hips, and both frames are square or 4:5 instead of 9:16. Many tutorials make the anime picture first with an AI image tool and load that into a template; the prompt guide shows how to write one.
Way 3: draw and animate it yourself, or commission an artist
The original is hand-drawn: @aka_zayy drew the characters and @ristyisvalid animated them. Fan artists have since drawn their own sets in the same look.
- Draw one full-body character, head to toe, on plain white, with a soft grey drop shadow to the lower right.
- Animate the single drawing like a puppet: pin the feet, dip the upper body by about 2% of the frame and spring it back on every beat (about every 0.44 seconds at 135 BPM), wobble the hips most, and lean slowly over each shot of about 3.4 seconds. Puppet and mesh-warp tools in animation apps (After Effects has one, and many phone editors have warp effects) can do this; Risty hasn’t said which software he uses.
- Commission: Zayy sells commissions in this style (an Oct 29 One Piece piece was one). Agree on how you will use the art, and credit the artist when you post.
Photo tips for this site
- One adult, alone in the photo, knees-up or full body, face clearly visible and looking at the camera.
- Even light and no heavy filters: your hair colour and skin tone come from the photo.
- Hair visible, without a hat or hood over it, since the hairstyle is kept.
- No sunglasses or masks, and no tiny, blurry or side-on faces.
- The background and your outfit don’t matter: the character gets new streetwear and goes on white.
- Never photos of kids, public figures or anyone who didn’t agree.
Adding the sound
In TikTok, open the trend’s sound, tap Use this sound, then Upload your video. The song page has the links to each sound and step-by-step instructions for TikTok, Reels and CapCut.
Posting tips
- Post it as it is: the download is already 9:16, the shape of TikTok, Reels and Shorts.
- Caption it the trend’s way: “Wassup in a minute 👀” and #wassupinaminute.
- Make a set: the original runs four characters back to back, about 3.4 seconds (eight beats) each, with quick fades through white. Make one video per friend who agreed, trim each in CapCut and join them.
- Label it: turn on the AI-generated label when you post.

Questions
How long does it take to make the video on this site?
It is usually under 5 minutes. You can leave the page: we email you when it is ready, and it stays in My videos for 14 days.
Can I make a wassup in a minute video on my phone?
Yes. The site works in a phone browser: pick a photo from your camera roll and download the MP4 when it is ready. The CapCut templates also run on a phone.
Can I put several friends in one video?
No. Each video takes one photo of one adult. Make one video per friend, each of whom agreed, and join them in CapCut, like the original’s four-character cut.
Does the video come with the song?
No. The download is silent on purpose. Add the sound in TikTok, Reels or CapCut when you post, so your post also appears on the sound’s page.
What if my video doesn’t look right?
If it failed or timed out, its credits are already back in your balance. If a finished video is clearly broken, email us within 7 days. Otherwise try a clearer photo: one adult, knees-up or full body, face visible, even light.
